Thanks for using despeech. We've tried to keep these terms straightforward and human-readable. By using our service, you're agreeing to play by these rules.

What We Do

We turn your audio into text through our API. When you send us audio, we transcribe it and send the text back to you.

Don't Be That Person

We built this tool to help people, so please don't use it for anything harmful. That means no:

• Illegal stuff or content that could get anyone in trouble
• Harassment, threats, or being mean to people
• Violating someone's privacy
• Spam or trying to break our service
• Transcribing copyrighted material you don't have permission to use
• Anything else that's obviously not cool

Your Part of the Deal

We need you to:

• Make sure you actually have the right to transcribe whatever audio you're sending us
• Keep your account secure (don't share your API keys with random people)
• Follow the law in your area

What We Can Do

If someone's not following the rules, we might need to:

• Pause or close accounts that are causing problems
• Make changes to the service (we'll give you a heads up)
• Remove content that violates these terms
• Update these terms occasionally (again, we'll let you know)

Your Data and Privacy

We need to process your audio files to transcribe them. We'll keep things secure and only hang onto your data as long as we need to. Check out our Privacy Policy for the full details.

Service Reliability

We work hard to keep things running smoothly, but we can't promise 100% uptime (nobody can). Sometimes stuff breaks, and when it does, we'll fix it as quickly as possible. We're providing the service as-is, which is legal speak for "we're doing our best but can't guarantee perfection."

If Things Go Wrong

If something goes wrong and it's our fault, we'll make it right up to the amount you paid for the service.

Ending Things

Either of us can end this relationship anytime. If that happens, you lose access to the service, and we might delete your data after giving you a reasonable chance to download it.

The Legal Bits

These terms follow UK law. If we have a disagreement we can't work out, we'll handle it through arbitration. If any part of these terms doesn't hold up legally, the rest still applies.
